When will our society finally be satisfied with what they are witnessing on television? How gory will television shows and movies become? Every year we witness these shows and movies because more gory and violent just to catch the viewers attention. I keep wondering how it will be like when I have kids. Every movie is just aiming to top the last. It's similar in Hunger Games when they start the fire or release the wild beast just to keep things interesting. They are never allowed to have a dull moment because they want to continue to keep the viewers entertained as well as keeping them afraid. They want to show theirs citizens what the capital can do if they decide to go against the capital again. So why do we crave this constant violence and drama? I believe it is very similar to us wanting the new ipod. We just want the newest and the best thing possible.

True!! We always want the newest thing out. Your statement reminds me of plentitude. That we always want more and never satisfied. Every movie has to be scarier than the last because we always expect more. Today most people are not scared of anything so it is harder to continue to come up with new things to meet society expectations because they will always want more.
ReplyDeleteI agree we always want to have something bigger and better. I liked your point about your kids, people say what is on TV now is bad but just imagine 10-20 years down the line how crazy or weird it will be.
